Ready for What's Next.

I was born and raised on Bennett Valley Road, the Sonoma Mountains rising around me. I grew up knowing the way golden light falls across these hills at the end of the day. My fiancée Anna knows it too. Her family has owned property in Lovall Valley since 1994, and she spent her childhood summers at the Rhoten camps.

For years, we came back to be near our families and walk the Plaza. Recently, we became homeowners and made the move home we'd talked about for so long.

That homecoming was also a moment when I decided to confront a question about my career: what does my community actually need, and do I have the skills to help provide it? That question took me to UC Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy to study Sonoma Valley's housing crisis, then back home to help found Sonoma Valley Commons, where I now serve as Executive Director, working to keep housing affordable for the workers, families, and seniors who give this valley its character.

The skills I bring are real and tested: consulting, where I advised state agencies and major technology companies; education technology, where I helped launch job readiness programs that put thousands of people to work; and community organizing in San Francisco, where I served as my Neighborhood Association President and built the first land use committee from scratch. The same conviction has run through all of it: our hardest challenges get solved not by any one person, but by bringing people together across the table; and everyone, wherever they start, deserves a fair shot at opportunity and a place to call home.

Sonoma is at a turning point. Anna and I share deep roots here, and we're planting them for a lifetime. I'm running for City Council to make sure the next generation has a seat at the table. I love this place the way you love a home you intend to keep: enough to do the patient, persistent work to improve it.
